Fragrance Notes Explained: Top, Heart and Base for Your Car
Fragrance descriptions often list notes. Knowing what they mean makes choosing a scent much easier.
Top notes
These are the first impression. They are light and bright, such as citrus, mint or herbs, and they fade first.
Heart notes
The heart is the character of the fragrance. It usually shows after the top notes settle and includes flowers, spices and fruits.
Base notes
Base notes are the foundation. Woods, amber, musk and vanilla stay the longest and give the scent depth.
How this helps in a car
In a small space, you notice the top notes quickly, so a very sharp opening can feel strong. If you prefer something soft, look for balanced heart and base notes. If you love an immediate fresh feeling, choose a bright top.
Try one scent at a time and give it a few drives before deciding.
